Sports
The last of the four most popular sports in Franerre, rowing can trace a few roots back to the Second Kingdom, but it's modern incarnation is almost entirely an invention of King Jean Neir Nuage Della Rosa I's Franerri Cultural Carnivals. Enjoyed near-exclusively on the coast for obvious reasons, rowing has a wide variety of events, such as sprints and endurance races of various distances and slaloms, that can be done individually, in pairs, and in teams of four or eight. Rowing is typically done in long canoes, though some races will experiment with allowing other boat types. Mainly enjoyed during the hot summer months, the professional league for rowing is known as the Franerri Water Racing League (Ligue Franerri de Course sur L'Eau).
Fencing
The most popular sport in all of Franerre, fencing is also the oldest, stretching back to the Condottieri of the First Kingdom. First practiced as a sign of status among the nobility and as a way for the Condottieri to hone their skills during peace time, the sport slowly became increasingly popular when the Condottieri as a class were abolished following the establishment of the Second Kingdom, though it was still majority practiced by the nobility. The use of actual swords was abolished under the Lusatian Dominium Franerrje and the sport generally fell out of practice, though it did survive using blunt wooden weapons. After the Foa Restoration, King Jean Neir Nuage Della Rosa I's Franerri Cultural Carnivals would see a revival of the sport, in two very distinct forms. The new cadre of nobility practiced the more traditional, serious version, while the common masses had more interest in the staged, dramatized version promoted by the Cultural Carnivals often called "Spectacle Fencing." This two diverging paths have resulted in two national leagues for fencing: The Franerri Professional Fencing League (Ligue Franerri D'escrime Professionnelle) and the Franerri Spectacle-Fencing Confederation (Confédération Franerri Spectacle D'escrime). Fencing is played year-round and is enjoyed all across Franerre.
Baseball
The second most popular sport in Franerre, baseball came to Franerre along with the Lusatians. It, along with soccer, have seen more popularity in the interior of Franerre. Baseball is played in the cool autumn months, with the professional league being known as the Franerri Baseball League (Ligue Franerri de Baseball).
Soccer
Another sport from Lusatia, soccer, like baseball, is mainly enjoyed in the interior of the country, though it has seen growing popularity in the tight spaces of Franerre's many coastal cities. Played professionally during the spring months, the professional league in Franerre is known as the National Soccer Federation (Fédération Nationale de Soccer).
