The military doctrine of Maiz only recently has under-gone a modernization effort, adopting the concept of defensive asymmetrical warfare. Due to the lack of mechanized units and manpower, it enables the Army to divide it's forces to enable lightning picket strikes upon the enemy to gradually wear down the assailants. Relying on speed and maneuverability to compensate for it's insufficient numbers for conventional combat. Artillery emplacements are key in this role, allowing spotters to locate enemy formations and call down bombardments upon them ahead of any assault.
Similar to most nations, the military is divided into four corps. The Army, Marines, Navy, and Air Force.
The Army is the most heavily funded and backed part of the military, being built out of volunteers, they are responsible for the defense of the entire nation, and in times of crisis, will be called to defend it.

Given the task of counter-attacking offensives, or capturing enemy positions. The Marine corp is often issued automatic weaponry for this task, collaborating with the Army should the situation require it. Often chosen from well preforming Army troopers, the Marine corp is well equipped for their task.

The Navy has few warships, especially in comparison to it's Northern neighbor, however their main role is transporting men across the gulf, or providing close fire support against vulnerable targets. Often under-budgeted when compared to their terrestrial counterparts, it is mostly inadequate compared to other modern naval powers, however they preform their duty admirably in the defense of their home.

Existing mainly on paper, the Air-Force is a new concept to the military, but to the colonels who demanded the formation of this branch, their wish was granted with stalwart reluctance. Despite this, the number of aircraft is very limited, permitting them to be used for reconnaissance missions exclusively, as the number of pilots is equally limited. As of now, their air-force has little standing.
