The Hostarom.
"In servitio, honorem invenio.
In Honore, pacem invenio.
In pace, spem invenio.
Hanc spem defendo."
"In service, I find honor.
In Honor, I find peace.
In peace, I find hope.
This hope I defend."
The structure of the Hostarom code and guild was simple but effective. They were an army to be levied not only by the Guild council, but also by people in need of help regardless of coin. They were the foundation for many modern practices and tactics in Marrlan's military. Despite being the Marrish peoples equivalent of knights, they did not wear full plate. Outside of some Gilda, most wore a mix of Plate, Gambesons, and simple road leathers to keep quick on their feet. This also meant it was easier for them to be made as the question of remaining resources fell to their training and other equipment. Steel they saved by not going for full plate with one Hostarom was more steel for the next and so on. Their armor favors that of ancient Italy and some Greek aesthetics. Great Helms and Barbutas are favored, though other helmet designs were used albeit of much less quality. Tan clothing and orange markings were the best way to tell if one was apart of
the Hostaroms number, though some wimply flew their banner if they could not afford the dyes.
Citizen Knight Civis Militis
Simple villagers or low mercenaries who rose to the occasion to be something more in the face of the hordes. An entry level to the Hostarom guild filled by many. Those with the cheapest armor.
Civis Tumor
Civis Alle
Civis Gralle
Guild Knight Gilda Militis
Should a Civis wish to join the guild in full, they could train under a veterans troupe and sign on with them. If they were lucky enough, they would encounter a Villa, and if they impressed them, be taken under their wing. Those with mid tier armor.
Gilda Roe
Gilda Hoen
Gilda Vaos
Hedge Knight Villa Militis
Veteran mercenaries. Those who rode alone but sought the call. Hedge Knights, as the were called taking jobs as they went. Wanderers in search of a place to bed on some journey, filled with a drive to walk in search of purpose, some altruistic goal, or simply down on their luck. Not rated with the Civis because of their veterans. These warriors were rare, but invaluable. Many sought the Hedge ridden path only to return or wash out dead. A tough but stern part of the guild. If not traveling with a troupe, they were always seen in pairs either with a Battle Noba or Acolyte. Those with the mos thigh quality armor, though it ranged depending on the Hedge.
