Roskanan Political PartiesMajor Parties
Republika Roskana: Currently the dominant party, represented and holding power in Executive, Judicial, and Legislative arms. Narrow Majority in Upper house. Democratic, primarily maintains power in the city of Auran and major Roskanan cities along the coast where the majority of the population resides.
Social Liberty Party: Party of Individual Liberty, active everywhere, strongest in small cities, and rural areas, but not centralized. Not necessarily democratic.
Ultranationalist Party: Ultranationalists. Monarchists, believe in strong centralized authority, revanchism, and imperialism. Also believe in many of the principles of older Tsars from before the era of the final tsar. Becoming increasingly popular, holds second largest majority in the government, lower house and upper house. Repeated winners of recent elections.
Praxus Party: Advancement minded, but small. Has deep pockets due to substantial high-income membership. Technocratic, often called the party of 'Crado's Republic'. Membership outside the Auran region is low.
Martian Politik Party: Political office of the Honorable Church of the Martian Order. Theocratic by nature and openly militaristic, but with many roskanan values still at its heart or at least said to be. It has appeal due to its growth minded policies. Allied with the Ultranationalists due to political convenience and interparty mingling. Not democratic, desire a 'honorable' monarch. Wealthy and moderately sized, mostly popular in Rural areas.
Roskanan States Auranopolis Auranopolis is the capital district, given vote by the Republican government. It represents the entire area of Auran, and its surrounding conurbations. It is both its own state, and capital of Auran.
Auran The first state in Roskana, Auran was once a empire that spanned from Maiz to the North. Now, it is the most densely populated state in Roskana and hosts much of its culturally significant relics. It is the center of Roskanan culture, and its technical capital, is Auranopolis. In the far northern tip, it hosts a subdistrict called Kiralia, once a state, but since absorbed for administrative and political reasons.
Ald Ald is the home of the Festria, or Red Pandas as most call them. Ald is a eastern state, and it joined the Roskanan state early in its history, before even the era of the tsars. It is mostly flat land, making it quite known for farming and mining. It has a rich military history. Aventhium is its current capital, as Hyperia was abandoned hundreds of years ago.
Mars Mars is home to a population of Kithium, Humans, and Karrashi who collectively represent a people once called the Martians. They hold relation to the Martian Church from a thousand years of missionaries, cultural intermingling, and interbreeding. Most current Martian priests come from the state of Mars, and it hosts many religiously significant sites. It is sparsely populated beyond some cities along the coast. Meridia is the capital, on the far southern coast of the Roskana.
Barraban The state of Barraban sits above Karshkan, and between Ald and Auran, a narrow region made up primarily of human cities and towns. The city of Tiir is its capital, and hosts much of the Barraban people's cultural history. Barraban was once an empire of its own, but a marriage between a Karrashi Queen and a Barraban queen saw it enter a union with the Karrashi, then join the Auranites in the foundation of Roskana later.
Karshkan Karshkan is home to the Karrashi, and hosts the majority of their people. Because Karshkan is such a large expanse with a low population, its only city of more than a million people is Ouhred. Karshkan has a long history of nobility and royalty, and is responsible for creating much of the unity that exists between the states of Mainland Roskana. Karrashi politicians are not uncommon and often trace their lineage back to Ouhred or rural areas of Karshkan.
Eflus The Overseas state of Eflus is the last nation to enter the Roskanan union, the former Kingdom of Gryphonia. Gryphonia has few large cities, rather its communities are heavily spaced out to create pockets along short networks of roads that ultimately allows for small populations of Gryphons to be able to trade, travel, and never be far from a settlement and shelter in the unforgiving weather of Eflus. Queen Meria of Gryphonia married Tsar Andrus Tyrus, joining Gryphonia with Roskana, almost six hundred years ago.
Major Roskanan CitiesAuran Auran is the largest city in Roskana, and the largest on the Auran Fjords. It hosts a population of roughly ten million people within its boundaries. The city is constructed primarily out of Rombardan Concrete, with its streets and government buildings designed to resemble many of the ancient structures once used to build the very foundation of the country. The city contains the Rombardan Collosium, and the Palace of Mars, Tower of Aphrodite, and the Collossus, the statue at the gates of the Auran Harbour that stands roughly 90 meters in height and plated in copper. Atop of the statue rests the Eternal Flame, which has burned continuously for almost three hundred years. The heart of the city is the Acropolis, the fortified interior district of the city, comprised of two high sculpted walls of concrete, surrounding the hill where Auran was founded, upon which the Tsar's Palace rests, and nearby, the capital building, the National Assembly can be found.
Thermala Home of the Honorable Church of the Martian Order, and its militant subgroup the Cult of Mars, Thermala has a population primarily of Kithium. With 4 million residents, the city is considered to be the second largest in Roskana, and hosts many culturally important structures, including a number of ancient Rombardan Ruins lining the hills. The Temple of Mars, the headquarters of the Martian Order, is built into the side of the tallest mountain outside the city, and stretches deep below ground, built over an ancient deep mining shaft. It is mostly built from Rombardan concrete now, but many of its oldest structures are made of normal stone. Pyramid like buildings line the outskirts, left overs of a society even more ancient than the Rombardans who came before Roskana, each being a governmentally protected building.
Aventhium The City of Aventhium is large but barely half the size of Thermala, but not as old as Thermala and the others. With a population of two and a half million people, Aventhium is close to the Grinvelian border and has multiple old forts along its outskirts, as well as nearby. It hosts several old war meuseums. The city is mostly modern in construction and built out of wood and stone, rather than concrete, due to its location and a lack of cheap shipping of the material to the area. Trees were simply more abundant, leading a lot of the military-built structures to become permanent and be refurbished rather than full-blown concrete buildings.
Tiir Tiir is a city of roughly one and a half million people, located north of Ouhred and to the west of Auran. It is a industrial city, though it pales in comparison to the scale and importance of Ouhred. Tiir is home to the Barraban estates, the clan holdings of the Barraban people who make up much of the population in the central region of the nation.
Ouhred Ouhred is the largest major city in the state of Karshkan. The city hosts a population of majority Karrashi, and Red Pandas. Built a long time ago, while Ouhred has been slow to grow, it was built to last. It's structures are made from Rombardan concrete, and then later a intermixing of steel, stone, rom-crete and wood. It has a large sum of the industrial capacity of Roskana, and is a major host for railways going south from both the north west, and north east. It's dense construction and industrial districts has made the city well known for being dense, despite it's population being considered small in terms of Major cities.
