With a government fully set it was time for the Union to begin speaking with the world, and their first focus would be a fellow "Republic". While they clearly had very different ideas in governance, an elected government was better than the many monarchies around the globe, and on the Union's borders. Contact with the Federal Republic was deemed a positive for the Union and so a diplomat, Aestem Bonaparte was sent to request a meeting. Aestem was the biological son of the Consul of the People, and thus the younger brother of the adopted Lucina. He was trained in diplomacy, having wanted to travel the globe from a young age, and thus was deemed a good diplomat to Amali, especially as it would show that the Union was willing to work with anyone who showed talent.
It would be a semi-roundabout trip, the Union not wanting to really let people know that they were reaching out. First Aestem would end up in Koi before boarding a train and heading to Amali, who would have been informed about the request for a meeting beforehand. It would be framed as a diplomatic mission between fellow Republicans. The Union wanted to make clear that all the rumors spread by the defeated forces are overblown, and if they got an inroad with Amali it shouldn't be long before other states would be open to talks as well.
Aestem would read his folder while riding the train. "Hmm they don't seem too bad," he'd mutter to himself. He'd take a drink as he flipped through it. "President heh? Seems like they consolidate their own executive power." After he finished reading it he'd close it and look out the window. Like many people in the Union he had fought in the Revolution, and it had left its mark. He fixed up his suit. Soon he would hopefully be meeting with someone of at least middling importance in Amali. So long as he achieved one more person seeing the Union as a potential force for good on this planet he had done his job.

The request would be granted, if at the least for the Amalian government to get a better idea on the Veltist ideas and goals. The final destination in the capital would be the Foreign Services Offices, as Amali had shut down the Eonian embassy as the nation no longer existed. The exact person to be meeting with would be a Gentediavalo, Assistant Secretary Ponzio Trevisani. A convoy would be waiting at the Amalian International Train Station, a massive network of tracks that rival even the railroad capital in Koi, for the arrival of Mr. Aestem Bonaparte. The detail even had the Assistant Secretary there, too, awaiting Mr. Bonaparte's arrival. Upon the train coming to a stop, a security detail would await for Bonaparte to depart the train and would help escort him out of the station.
Upon his arrival to the outside of the station, Mr. Trevisani would hail Mr. Bonaparte by saying, "Benvenuto, amico, in Amali, signore Bonaparte. How was the train ride?"
He held out his hand to shake with Mr. Bonaparte.

"It was well enough Monsieur Trevisani," Aestem said smiling as he shook the extended hand. "It allowed me to catch up on some reading I needed." His documents he had brought with him were currently stowed away in his briefcase. "Your state seems to have plenty of interesting things about, I look forward to seeing more during my stay here."

Trevisani nods understandingly.
"Aye, and Amali welcomes you with open arms during your stay," the Gentediavalo says, motioning to the car as he continues, "Come, come. Are you perchance hungry? No use in discussing politics or diplomacy if you're in need of some food."

"I ate on the train," Aestem said with a smile following the lead of his host. "It was quite the experience. Personally I prefer eat while stationary however."

"You and me both, amico," he says, opening the door for Bonaparte to get in the car. The station was loud and roaring with life and machines as trains departed and arrived, and people came and went without really appearing to bother looking at the diplomatic entourage. Most, if anything, appeared absorbed with their day-to-day life or greeting of loved ones arriving home from far away places.
The people, on the other hand, were dressed in various fashion statements. Some simple suits and dresses, others more ornate, but one thing was quite apparent in reference to the rest of the world: there appeared to be no ordering of who was wearing what.
"We are working on your embassy, if you decide to stick around, so for now we'll be heading to the Foreign Services Office Building. You'll get to see more of the city while we're on the way there."

"It'll be up to the Commissar if I officially stay here, but if things go well this meeting I see no reason why not," Aestem commented as they proceeded on their way. "I've always wanted to see sights beyond my home and now have great opportunities to do such a thing." He would watch the city go by. "If you don't mind me asking, there isn't a lot of material at home about why your people chose the Federal Republic system, and I was interested in how it worked."

"To make a long story short, our democracy has evolved over its three-hundred year history," the diplomat says, "It's not the same as it started, and I doubt it will remain the same long after you and I are gone. This is merely the phase at which we believe is best for the federal government. Each state is admitted as long as it embraces democracy in some form. Some states have chosen for a direct democracy, some are federal-esque, and some are their own unique system."
The man shifted in his seat, resetting the jacket he was wearing to sit properly.
"As for how it works, we operate on a two chamber system. A House, which represents the pure vote at each level, and the Parliament which represents the national average of the election. That is, the House is purely on who wins - if party A wins fifty-one percent or more, they get a seat there. The House is in flux of how many seats it has, and will likely increase if more states are added to keep representation equitable. The Parliament looks at the national average and parses out the seats there, so that is to say if party... Party G wins at least one percent of the vote, they get one seat there. Parliament is in... Less of a flux when it comes to how many people sit on its floors."
"Now, the Presidency is an interesting piece. We primarily use public votes to dictate who wins in a tiered voting system nowadays. So if you rank a couple candidates, say it's B, C, A, then we count in rounds. If B fails, we count your second vote, and each round's information is recorded to show exactly what the nation's concerns are for the coming Presidency." He thinks for a second, considering how to continue, "Another part is that we do have a "no" option on our ballots. Amali has not had to reshuffle its candidates even with the option present, and if I'm not mistaken the largest percentage of "no" votes ever recorded has been around seven percent."
"At one point we had an governing election body, but through a constitutional amendment we removed it in favor of the new system. It was a long time coming, anyway, as a good few states demonstrated the effectiveness of this system."

Aestem would listen to the diplomat and nod, clearly interested in part by the explanation. "That is quite different from the system back home. It is interesting, though it wouldn't work for us." He would make some small talk, asking about local customs and scenes before they arrived at their destination. Once they were finally settled into the meeting place he would begin to speak about his job.
"So I have been tasked with meeting with your government in order to dispell the bad rumors spread during the Revolution as well as hopefully establish a bilateral communication between our Republics." He would smile grimly. "Currently we are a little worried about the large amount of authoritarian regimes on our borders and want to make some connections with the more liberal nations in existence."

"Which is understandable," the Assistant Secretary says, "I'm aware of who you are referring to, and likewise the actions of a member state have warranted a massive revamp and increase in our naval and air force to.. More effectively deal with the issues they present. We've been evaluating all the options that have reached our ears to figure out how best to approach the issues."
"As for dispelling rumors, that's a bit more difficult, as they are based on the facts of your revolution and some of your fellow countrymen and women's remarks."

"The rumors are based on 'facts' that have been falsified by those who lost the revolution," Aestem said a little tense at this topic. "You may not be aware but my family used to be members of the nobility before the Revolution. We joined it in order to correct many of the injustices of the old regime. The URRV believes in freedom for all, and I will admit we might be a little more aggressive about it than most, but that's because we hold people's well being in such a high importance." He'd smile a little. "We want peace and security for everyone around the globe. Our dream is a world that knows no war or hardships."

The diplomat shrugged at the remark. "Regardless of what happened during the revolution, one faction in your nation makes it very apparent that they want what's best for their own vision, not what's best for the world. Only the citizens of each nation can determine what it is they truly want. We're very aware of the faction that seeks to spread communism by force, and that is not something that you nor I can ever dissuade from the public's consciousness. Nor would our federal government wish to hide such truths, because it begins to breed ignorance, complacency, and sets the precedent that it's alright to hide information of this caliber."

Aestem would wave his hand a little. "The extreme factions are barely stable. The moderates are in firm control of the government, as they represent the majority of people in the Union. Extremists exist in every state, and at least ours are not in power, unlike some of these authoritarians across the globe." He would sigh slightly to himself. "Of course I am aware that most of you think that our way of life is evil just be existing, which is why our extremists have a voice. The CPC hopes that by establishing open and mutual ties with Amali we can show everyone coexistence is possible. Most people remember the Revolution where the world tried to kill our ideology in the cradle, we want to give them a new and positive memory."

"Like I said, Amalians don't care how others live their life as long as they don't try to force it on others. So long as the parties do not attempt to engage in terrorism or violence against other persons, Amali will not infringe upon their rights to exist," the diplomat says. "Up until Verak conquered our territories, Old Amali didn't have a concept of gendered pronouns, just a separation of objects and living beings. Hence New Amali's first defining feature came to be known as 'The Great Genderfication' to linguists. However, with all democracies regardless of their nature and policies, they must remain open to the fact their institution can be hijacked by ill-willing parties and people. We fear if the going gets tough, what your people will gravitate towards as a new democracy of your own. It wasn't too long ago your people were imperialists, and it is likely a few believe in imperialism under a different flag now."
The diplomat points to one of the cabinets, standing and asking, "Can I get you a drink?"

"If you have any whiskey I would appreciate some," Aestem said, taking the diplomat up on his offer. "Imperialism was the ideal of the nobility. A majority of our citizens want to focus on protection and betterment of themselves. Besides I feel we have an example of what happens when the going gets tough, after all the Revolution was caused by a tough going and ended when people took a stance against extremism, allowing our government to form. I have faith in our citizens." He'd smile slightly. "We've had enough violence to last a lifetime."
