The Mil'Noran gestured to be followed once more, leading the party further along through the market square. All around, the Rel would be able to notice the gawks and stares of the populace once they noticed who led the group. Some knelt, others seemed to start begging for mercy, all ignored by the Clan Chief. Talamore's daughter seemed to not be as eager to accept the attention, her gaze constantly going back to her father as she quietly tried to dissuade the common folks reaction, at least towards her. The group eventually came to a jeweler's at the edge of the square, another guard standing outside of it. He was wearing the colors of Clan Meiyo, as the two guards with the group wore the colors of Clan Tolvaj.
A nod was all that was given to the guard before the man stood aside of the door, Talamoore gesturing alone to Dai to follow now before speaking. "You must forgive me, but I will require that you alone follow. The interior of this praticular store isn't as spacious as we need, and I'm afraid that despite my pleas, the owner refuses to come to my Clan's estate...which I suppose does allow you the opportunity to see his wares. I believe he last had a pearl the size of his head on hand, or at least last I checked up on him."

Dai's antenna would twitch slightly as they walked intrigued by the display from the people. Upon their arrival at the jewelers, he would respond, "I see." Dai would speak briefly with his entourage before quietly following behind the man into the store.

Entering the shop, Dai would be able to see an assortment of trinkets, odds and ends mixed in with stunningly designed jewlery pieces. The gemstone cuts in particular were unlike anything the Marrlaner would have seen back home. In a corner of the shop, seated at the counter and reading what looked like to be a newspaper sat a lone Inselni. His presence at least explained why the ceiling of the shop extended far above what the Rel would have seen so far. Talamore raised a hand in greeting as he spoke.
"Good Day, Great Elder. Tell me, have you been well seen I last visited?" The Inselni looked up from the paper and down at the Mil'Noran, his eyes quickly conecting with the Rel's before he returned to the Chief. 'I've been well, Meiyo. Not that you'd have known about my troubles since your last visit eleven years, four months and twenty six days ago. Have you brought your friend for another political marriage or is this some other affair of yours?' The Inselni's tone was anything but appreciative, the kind of feeling one would get when a parent was passively reprimanding a child. The jewel crafter flapped his paper before turn another page, looking over at the Rel proper now before speaking.
'Or maybe you'd rather tell me what's going on here. You look like the down to earth type.'

"I'm here on some official business with the Republic of Marrlan, the Chief was giving me a tour of your market and wanted us to stop by your shop." The Rel would give his equivalent of a smile with his antennae and continue, "So far everything has reminded me of home."

The Inselni rubbed his chin before speaking again. "Marrlan huh? Well I'm afraid I can't help you with politics, friend, but if you are looking for some of the finest gems in the country, you stumbled in the place for em. Tell me, what's your name boy? I've never seen any like you in my lifetime"
Talamore seemed to have shut up by the Inselni's disregard for him, the Mil'Nor keeping an eye on the two as he let the interaction play out...not that he expected much good to come from it now.

"Dai. Dai Kovack." He'd extend his hand, "I'm a Rel, we're from a more north-western part of Marrlan-" His main set of antennae would splay widely, "The Infernal Plains." "I'm partially surprised you haven't seen any of us before, we're pretty well traveled." His second set of antennae would twitch abit after he finished speaking.

The Inselni's course hands rose to reciprocate the offered handshake, the gem cutter giving the Rel a smile as he spoke again.
"Of all my years, Mr Kovack, I've never had the stuffy nosed brat over here bring me someone who'd offer a handshake. No, I can't say have seen or heard of your people before, but I tend to keep to my stones, they make much better companions then most people."

Dai would return the smile and chuckle abit, both sets of his antennae shaking slightly. "I'm happy to defy the status quo." "If I could speak to my younger self, I'd have gone ahead and inherited the family farm instead. Though I do like seeing the world's cultures."

Talamore seemed about to open up, the irritation clear as day on his face before the door to the shop opened once again. Entering hurriedly was the girl that had been at Talamores side along with another male Mil'Nor. The stranger wore a rather plain uniform with several orange stripes along it, a pack filled with letters on his back.
The two rushed towards Talamore, a quick conversation talking place as Talamore's face seemed to contort from irritation to pure anger. He'd only manage to half douse his rage as he'd sent the strange Mil'Nor away, approching the other two with his daughter close behind. "Apologies, Mr Kovack, but it would appear that a serious matter has occurred that demands my attention. I will be leaving you in the care of my daughter for the time being, she'll tend to any of your needs without hesitation. Once you have had your fill of the market, she'll lead you to where we have set aside quarters and a meeting area for our talks to continue"
He'd give a quick bow before marching off in a hurry, leaving Dai now with the girl and the Inselni. The latter of the two huffed as Talamore left, turning to the Rel again once more as he spoke. "Leaving a guest in the middle of a showing...must be rather important to get his lines in a twist"

The Rel's second set of Antennae would curl in confusion, "In quite a hurry to, hope it's nothing bad." He'd glance at the young lady expectantly.

The woman gave the Rel a gaceful bow before speaking "Apologies for the interruption, Ambassador Kovack. I don't believe we were properly introduced beyond my father's quick words, but as a daughter of my Clan, I will do what I can to see to your requests"
The shopkeep snickered to himself as the girl spoke, shaking his head before speaking again "Don't mind the fool, Kovack. You'll be in better hands now anyway...girl, how about you show your friend here to the Rubicon? I'm sure he'd get a kick out the sight" Without another word, the shopkeep returned to his newspaper, occasionally muttering to himself as he read the paper.

Dai pondered for a moment, "Rubicon, that sounds interesting yea." He looked down at the woman and said, "It's no bother at all, miss...?" He extended his hand as he spoke.

The girl's face lit up in embarrassment as she hastily tried to correct her perceived faux pax. "Apologies again, I am Vaela, daughter of Chief Talamore of Clan Meiyo." Another quick bow was given before she made note of the man's offered handshake. She'd met eyes with him, slightly confused look on the girl's face as she look down back at the hand. Her own rose with some hesitancy, the shake not bad but she was clearly unaware of how to handle such a simple greeting.
After the shake, the girl took a moment to collect herself before speaking once again, her tone having the feel of a trained pet trying to jump through hoops. "The Rubicon is one of our most advanced ships to date, and if I remember right from my studies, Marrlan is very at home on the seas. I know my father has tried to show you the best of our people, but I do belive that it would be a better place for discussion then the halls of Clan Tolvaj"

The Rel would perk up at the mention of the boat his main set of antennae curling down in her direction as she spoke, "I'm very much so interested in seeing this vessel now, though I'd hate to switch up meeting locations on you all unless it would cause some issue being in the other clan's hall." His main antennae would shoot up as he realized something, "Oh and I never caught your name, sir." He said looking back at the Inselni, "I may come back after the meeting is over to get something for my wife."

"Markesh is what you can call me, son. You go deal with your little meeting, I'll still be here afterwards anyway. Go enjoy your little harbor walk, Mr Kovack." The man gave a flick of his paper as he resumed his reading, Vaela gesturing to the diplomat towards the exit. She speak again, her façade dropping slightly as she spoke. "My father should have left a guard or two to escort us....not that it isn't safe for you, Mr Kovack! It's just...well, despite us commanding the navy, the merchants of Tolvaj don't quite care for a Meiyo to be walking the streets, let alone the daughter of Talamore. I've not often gotten a chance to visit the harbor her during our visits away from home...so honestly I was also looking to see the new vessels myself. I've read what I can about them, but there is a large difference between reading it in a book and seeing it for yourself"
