Nils looked over the letter he written, having pulled the message out from the "unimportant" bin that the girl had put the message in to begin with. His knowledge of the mainland was scare to start with, so little clicked in his mind about this "Republic". Still, more friendly relationships were always good to have considering the strange changes coming to the world. Maybe he could do a little something himself after all...it's been years since he went about sailing the waters surrounding his homeland after all.
Regardless, the old codger sealed the letter and put it in his out pile, going back to fulfilling his duties as the letter was eventually sent out when mail came.

After a trip across the pond and stint through Zedonia, Dai and his Entourage would arrive in Mil'Nor.

The start of the summer season had arrived at Mil'Nor by this time, much of the frozen waves melting due to the warmer weather. Oceangoing trade exploded due to this, the older vessels of the Mil'Noran government and merchants unable to as easily deal with the icebreaking as more industrial powers. The vessel carrying the Marrlen delegation was allowed ease of access into the port of New Raltera, although the docks themselves seemed to be filled to the brim with Mil'Nor running about this way as they attended to their respective duties. Upon disembarkment unto the stone dock, the delegation was approached by a pair of figures. The one who was richly decorated, even by the standards of the old world, a reserved look on his face as the man preformed what must have been the slightest noticeable bow ever to have been preformed.
"Greetings and may the blessings of the Allfather guide you, travelers. I am Clan Chief Talamore Arcus of Clan Meiyo." The man motioned to his right, the girl stepping forth with a clear intent at presentation given as the elder spoke again "This is my daughter, Vaela Arcus. We will be seeing to your needs and requests while you visit our home. If i may ask, who among you leads your part, if anyone?" While his tone was clearly within the lines of respectability when dealing with foreign diplomats, a small slice of derision might be noticed a having to deal with foreigners in the first place

"That would be me." Dai stepped forward "Bully to meet both of you." The Rel bent down and offered his hand. If Dai picked up on the buried bite to his words he didn't show it. His entourage was small, only himself a Shazza'k and 2 Humans accompanied him.

The youngest of the two seemed to frown for a brief moment before taking once again to a look of general neutral curiosity. Talamore for his part seemed unphased by Dia's more casual tone, resuming right where he left off in the meeting. The Chief gracefully came to grasp the offered hand, the grip giving a sense of a foreignness to the concept as they shook before being pulled away the same way. "Follow me, if you would Mr....Kovack, was it? I hope the journey has not wearied you down too much. We may have much in the way of luxuries by our own standards, but I have my doubts as to if we will be able to appease to your own sensibilities on the matter."

Dai would respond with what could pass as a smile, "My people, the Rel, adore learning of other cultures Chief Talamore, everything I see has wonder to it no matter where I go." "I'm excited to see what your homeland is like." Despite his mild tone, Dai was fighting to contain his excitement. A new culture and land to explore were laid out before him.

They would begin towards the carriage at the roadside by the docks, Talamore raising a hand to gesture to the port waters. The ice had all but melted in a few places, leaving the deep blue of the waves to show clear around the rock and stone of the port. "You'll find our seas filled with many forms of seafood, along with the snowy woods of our realm filled to the brim with good hunting stock. Exotic tastes and smells to behold, along with a few species of hunting companions we have trained. An entire country out there to fill what adventure your people may need, Ambassador. You need but ask and I will show you the way through our lands towards your target."

"I'll have to take you up on that forest tour at some point then. I'd like to see more of the ports though, perhaps the Fishermans market as well?" Dai's antenna twitched and moved around slightly taking in the smell of the port and the sea it neighbored. The view of the environment almost completely stealing his attention.

"AH, yes...the market square. If that is where you'd prefer to start the tour, we can make accommodations accordingly." A hint of mild unese was felt within the Chief's tone before it was covered again by the more professional mask the man wore. He'd lead them on towards the carriage, allowing the diplomat to have a bit more of a view of the country.
Compared to himself and those that had come to meet him, the general populace around them seemed dressed in patch-worked scraps for clothes, looking similar to how the destitute back in the old world were clothed. The people themselves didn't seem mind this, going about their daily lives per usual.
Beyond that, one thing would be apparent: Almost every eye around gazing at the strange foreigner. The Rel were an unknown in Touli, a curiosity to young and old alike.

The Rel had to crane himself to fit inside the carriage, but he was able to fit with some finagling. The Shazza'k in his entourage also had some mild difficulty being quite tall herself the Humans had minimal issue but had to squeeze in still. Dai looked around inside with what little motions he could make with his head, "Quite a beautiful carriage you have."

It was of a sturdy design, large enough to carry a dozen or so Mil'Nor within, but still adequate enough for its larger passengers today.
Talamoore gave a nod of appreciation to the Rel, his daughter seating herself beside the Chief before the carriage set off towards the market square. The clan chief eyed the Rel for a moment before speaking once again
"So tell me a little of your own home, Mr Kovack, while we wait for us to be able to show you more of our own."

"Well, my hometown is mainly farmland or woods save for a small urban area. Gentle plains is one of those backwoods kinda boring places some might look over but is actually full of culture." Dai would look out the window with a look of nostalgia, "We have markets like the one you're taking us to there. Though they're more scarce in places with less Rel. Still, it was a nice area to grow up in."

The carriage soon arrived at the market square, stalling Talamore from responding as the man gave a light cough. "Well, it seems we have arrived at the 'market' then. If you will follow me, I shall guide us towards finding something of true value to a Mil'Nor." Again, that poison was felt in his tone, although it didn't seem direct exactly at Re or his entourage to any degree. The two guards riding on the sides of the carriage opened the side doors, allowing the passengers exit out to the city proper once more. The square would be filled with stalls, a central fountain surrounded by small groups of what could only be young adult Mil'Nor socializing. A few children would run around the party, playing their own little game while they spoke in the native tongue of the people. The elder seemed displeased by the sight, as he had a small but notable stiffing of the back as they as they passed.
He'd turn around to face the Rel once more, his face calm, cool, collected as he spoke. "Apologies for the display, these lower's display should not be considered the norm here within our home. If you will follow me, Ambassador Kovack, there is at least one place amoung the rabble I know of that show's the cream of the crop that they have to offer"

The Rel's antenna would furrow for a moment, "I thought it was quite endearing. The commoner reflects the man of decorum and vice versa." He would lift a hand before he continued, "But I digress, please continue the tour."
