"Their families would probably have issue with them being cut up in a foreign country. But as it stands they're shot to ribbons anyway." He'd shrug. "So long as the bodies can be transported back to Rovuellia within a short enough time frame for a proper funeral, and their identities can be ascertained, then I have no real issue with you performing an autopsy." He'd say.
----
Jericho would step out of the vehicle after they had settled into the spot, and they would stand up. He'd gesture for them to lead the way and follow them in, until they reached where they were supposed to be heading.

"We'll do our best." He'd turn to the officers. "You know what to do." Carefully, they'd pick up the corpses from their bloodied seats and carry them to the bags. Once in, they'd zip them up and haul them back, placing them with the others. The medical crew would finish the job, loading them into the ambulance to be carried off.
----
The officer would lead them into the building. Once past all the guards, the interior was actually quite pleasant. Well-lit, clean, dull pastel blue paint. The officer would lead them to the evidence rooms, walking into one of the non-occupied sound-proof rooms. They'd put on a pair of gloves and pull out the recorder, setting it gently on the table. "Let me know when you're ready."

The commander would watch them peel the bodies out of the booth, and then turn to the detective. "I'd like a trip to the police station, so I can talk with my man." They'd say.
-----
Planting his ass into a seat and settling himself back, he'd cross his arms and look at the recording. "Get the show on the road already."

The investigators would turn to each other, shrugging. "Call it in, I guess." One of them would step away, moving behind the bar and grabbing the phone. He'd dial something, calling up the station.
After a few moments, the investigator would come back. "The Commissioner is fine with it. So just come along with us."
----
The officer would shrug, sitting down and turning on the recording. He'd be writing anything worth noting on a notepad.

The officer follows them when they head out, and when prompted they get into a seat in a police cruiser.
-----
The other man is writing things down on his own notepad, the Festria occasionally stopping to rewind the tape so he can write down lines of interest more than once. However, when mention of the names comes up, he would stop the recording and reply it again, before he then looked at the other man sitting at the desk. "You catch that?"

The officer would nod. "Sounds to me like there's more involved than just these two." He'd scribble down the names, listening back to the tape as they start it once more.
The officer would be brought to the station, him also getting greeted by the compound-like site they called the police station.
[The next morning]
The TVs across Tanus and some from the areas bordering the nation would be tuned to the news, listening.
"Last night, at just before midnight, congressmen Derek Trulivola of Rii and Richard Colsa of Del Sven were gunned down by unknown assailants. It is unclear if this was a political attack, they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, or something else. Along with them, there were three Tannian citizens and two Rouvellian citizens that were also caught in the shooting. Rouvellian officials are working closely with Tannian officials to bring the subjects to the light. Surveillance videos show a black SUV contained the shooter or shooters. There was no license plate, and as such the vehicle is unable to be identified easily. If you happened to have been around the area and saw a black SUV with no plates driving quickly through the streets, police urge for you to give any information you can."

The Festria and the Officer would have fallen asleep in the sound proof room after a point if it weren't for the tape. Or at least the Festria would have, because the instinct to just sleep when comfortable was all too hard to shake even in more or less 'peaceful' settings. The man had for the most part stayed awake, and he would now be running through the notes he had made in his notepad, as well as the transcript he had made of the recording as well.
"..This doesn't really bode very well." They'd say. "At least not for domestic politics." He would look at the officer.
"I'm going to have to turn this into my commanding officer." He would say.

The officer would nod, himself getting pretty close to falling asleep. "If my tired mind is piecing it together right, it would seem to me like we've got a very deep hole that a lot of politicians are a part of..." He'd look up at Jericho as he mentions turning it in. "Just on the off-chance...I'd recommend hiding that notebook until it reaches your commander's hands. As far as the station is aware, you simply accompanied me and didn't take your own notes. Best to play it safe and keep it that way."
He'd close his own notepad, shutting off the recorder fully.

"Deep rabbit hole indeed." He'd say. "..But we're going to have to dive down it. My people aren't just going to let this go unanswered. They'd have the regional commander's head on a Pike." He'd say. "Someone's gotta look into it." As the officer speaks though, he would nod seem to be amused, but agree. They'd nod their head, and uncross their arms. "No one is gonna be taking Rovuellian military property." He'd say. Then he would slide the notepad into his right breast pocket, and then close it up with the zipper. "But you have a point." He would tell them.
"You should get out of here before you pass out in your seat." He'd tell them.

The officer would stand, nodding. "Best we both do." He'd grab the recorder and walk to the door, opening it. He'd motion for Jericho to lead, shutting off the light and closing the door once they're both out. "Have someone come back within the next forty-eight hours to pick this up. As it's not our property, and not the property of the suspects or apparent targets, we're legally not supposed to keep it." He'd step in close, whispering. "If they say they don't have it, you've got the transcripts. Spread them like wildfire."
He'd step back, sticking out his hand. His voice would turn very formal. "It was a pleasure, sir. I hope we were able to answer most of your questions. We can arrange for someone to transport you back to where you need, or supply you with a phone to call someone to come for you, just let us know."

"You know what, Officer? I think I'm just gonna walk it. It's been awhile since I've gotten some morning sunshine." He'd say, smiling to them, and then rendering a courtesy bow. "Twas' a pleasure." he'd say, giving them a handshake, and then making his way past them, rendering a pat on the shoulder. Though before he goes, he pulls them close by the side, and whispers a "We'll surely meet again, when the time comes." Then he continues on his way, and heads to the door. He then makes for the front door to exit the building.
About three or so minutes later, a man would make his way inside, and drop off a wallet. Of which belonged to the same officer as earlier. Nothing was missing, but it had basically disappeared from the man's pocket. When asked, the man who found it said that a 'Festria man just told me he found this on the road and that I should turn it in.'

The officer would return the bow, figuring it to be customary, him not much a man of other cultures so best just to follow suit. He'd watch for a moment before walking to the copy room. He'd copy his notes, putting the originals in his pocket and keeping the copies out. He'd then walk to the evidence locker, turning in the recording device and the notes. "This is all I got from it." The officer on the other side would take it, placing it in a bag and stamping a piece of paper before taping it to the bag. " You're free to go."
The officer would be just leaving the secure area with his shift having ended as he'd overhear the conversation. The receptionist would call over for him, making him turn on his heels as if he hadn't been listening. "Yes ma'am?"
"This nice gentleman here has returned your wallet."
"My wallet?" He'd pat himself down, realizing it wasn't on him. He'd cautiously walk over, taking it as the other guy leaves. He'd open it, looking through it briefly before seeing nothing wrong with it. "Huh, coulda swore I had it on me." He'd nod to the receptionist before turning back around and walking out, heading back home.

The man would be gone about half a day, until he and three others wearing more formal attire would return to the police station, though it's noticeable that they're wearing some padding underneath, largely as a precautionary measure. It was still ceremonial gear in essence. Heading inside, they would reach the receptionist's desk, and Jericho, hair now free to view and curly and long enough to cover a good half of his head from view, would smile to said person.
"I'm here, on behalf of the Rovuellian Government and the Rovuellian Armed Forces, to retrieve an audio recording device of which is the property of a deceased citizen of Rovuellia and their still un-expired family."

The receptionist would look the group over for a moment before nodding. "One moment please." She'd grab the phone on her desk, ringing up someone. "Hello...We have some people here from the Rouvellian Government. ... Yessir. ... They're here for a...tape recorder. ... Yessir. ... Alright, sir. Thank you." She'd hang up, looking back at the group. "Please have a seat, we'll be with you shortly."
After they take a seat, a few minutes later the secure doors would open and an officer would step out. They'd seem to be of similar rank as the one from the previous night, but not the same person, them standing taller and bulkier than the last. In their hands would be the tape recorder within its bag and a stamped paper.
"Here is your property." They would remove the device from the bag, handing it over to Jericho. It would feel slightly lighter than before, but only something one would notice if paying close attention. They'd also hand over the stamp card. It would be dated with a time reading three hours after Jericho left, detailing its weight, battery life, contents, and some other miscellaneous information. "We hope you have a good one." He'd nod to them, tipping his hat before walking back to the doors and inside before they could say anything else to him.

They'd look at the recorder and listen to the man as they spoke their short sentences, though the others would seem to visibly grow all the more skeptical as the seconds pass as their eyes went to the tape recorders. It was not a secret that Tanus had some.. issues, and they were all very much aware that they might be getting played. Jericho especially, and he would notice that there was a difference in the weight it was supposed to have as compared to what he felt now, and in place of that, he would push on the clips of the recorder and open it up to look inside and see if the internal's had been tampered with, and if the recorder box was still in place.
